Is Teixeira worth it?

I would rather have tex than arod, maybe I'm wrong but from watching games arod seems great at delivering the 3 run homer when the yanks are up 11-1 in the 8th inning, while tex hits the single in the ninth w score tied. My perception also is that tex is a better teamamate, more about the team, less distractions and theatrics.
