I think you used the wrong formula for finding area of a triangle. It's A = 1/2 times base times height. The area of one triangle is 1/2 times 3 times 3/2 when multiplied out equals 9/4. Multiply that times 32 triangles and you get 72, which is 1/2 of your original answer.
