Pimp my Ride SHOW FAKE??

It seems like they set those people up with those busted up cars. LIke as if they fixed it up enough to have it run and display it on tv as a lemon. I saw one guy on the show who had a beautiful house, had alligator shoes on, jewelry, had some recording studio in his home (aspiring producer) yet couldn't afford to buy or lease a decent car? That seems a bit fishy.
